Guess we should have seen it coming. Week one Ashland is upset by local single A rival Raceland and Belfry wins a tough home game against NewCath. Looks like it was a really nice game. Belfry went for the win (2pt conversion) but failed giving the Tomcats the win.
Russell, the top ranked 2A, will take the longest winning streak in the state of 13 games to visit another 3A school next weekend. Russell will face longtime fierce rival Ashland, who happend to beat the then second ranked 2A team Belfry.
Montgomery Bell Acadamy/Trinity was a great game. MBA wins 23-21 overcoming a 14-3 halftime deficit. Nick Petrino (yes UofL football coachs son) thru 3 INT's. Trinity missed a 55 yard field goal on the last play of the game. Amazing it was long enough but about 5 yards wide, nice leg on the Trinity kicker. It was Trinitys first loss on their "new" field in nine games.
