Week Four '3A' Preview
Here are 3A's district games during week four...
(2) Warren East @ Allen County-Scottsville
The Raiders have averaged an incredible 49 points per game so far. Can they keep that pace up against their first district foe?
3rd District Games
--Central @ Bullitt East
The regular season district championship could be decided here.
--North Bullitt @ Valley
The Eagles, led by sophomore running back Dalton Cissell, are off to a fast start and are looking for a key district win at the Valley Vikings.
--Atherton @ Fairdale
--Jeffersontown @ Doss
Doss is looking to go 2-0 in the district after defeating Fairdale last week.
(7) Letcher County Central @ Bell County
Some of the other top games in Class 3A action...
--Greenwood @ Bowling Green
The Gators got a big win last week against Ohio County, but now they face a more than forminable challege: a Bowling Green team that, finally healthy, stuffed Warren Central by 23 points.
--Washington County @ Marion County
The Knights of Marion County are off to a quick start this season at 2-1, including a win over Campbellsville. Washington County looks to recover from a big loss to Bardstown two weeks ago.
--Shelby County @ South Oldham
After an embarrasing beginning against Central, Shelby County turned it around last week against Whitley County. Now they travel to Crestwood to battle the undefeated Dragons.
--Scott County @ Lexington Catholic
Despite a rocky start, Lexington Catholic should be ready for the Cardinals in this great matchup. Catholic hasn't played since being smoked by St. Xavier; in fact, the Knights are the only team in the state which has only played one game so far.
--Frankfort @ Franklin County
Look for a high-scoring, entertaining matchup here in the state's capital. Frankfort, quietly, is 3-0 and looking for a big win. Franklin County, however, was more than impressive in wins over Somerset and Pulaski County.
--North Laurel @ Madison Southern
4A visits 3A here in this southeastern Kentucky matchup. North Laurel picked up a key victory last week in a win over 2A's Leslie County. Madison Southern notched their first win in week three over Letcher County Central.
--Bryan Station @ Johnson Central
Not many are talking up Johnson Central, who quietly has marched to a 3-0 start. Bryan Station isn't the best team Lexington can offer, but the Defenders should give Jim Matney and his Golden Eagles a good test before district play begins.
Game of the Week
--Highlands vs. St. Xavier (in Cincinnati)
It would have been Game of the Week in 4A as well, but Highlands should play as the home team here. Arguably the best team in their respective classes, the Bluebirds and the Tigers should give southern Ohio a good look at what Kentucky football can offer.
Other '3A' hosted games: Memphis Ridgeway (TN) @ Hopkinsville, Ohio County @ Madisonville-North Hopkins, McLean County @ Breckinridge County, Metcalfe County @ Adair County, Fort Knox @ Russell County, Owen County @ Grant County, Pendleton County @ Anderson County, Woodford County @ West Jessamine, Paris @ Bourbon County, Raceland @ Greenup County

TY Ben --- Don't forget about North in the coming weeks -- Although scrimmages don't count North Bullitt did outscore highly touted Louisville Western in their second scrimmage 21-12.
