Week Four '4A' Preview
It's a BIG week in Class 4A football. First, the district games!
(2) Apollo @ Grayson County
The Eagles should take care of the Cougars in this district matchup.
(5) Oldham County @ Trinity
It's not a question of who, but of how much.
Now for the rest of the games in question...
--Mayfield @ Graves County
Heard it's a big game over in Western Kentucky. Graves County is rolling, as the Eagles have won their first three on the year. A tough test awaits tomorrow though, as A power Mayfield rolls into War Memorial Stadium.
--John Hardin @ Owensboro
Two weeks after a surprising loss at Larue County, John Hardin will look to turn it around against the Owensboro Red Devils. The task is a difficult one however, as Owensboro has notched impressive wins against Owensboro Catholic and Meade County.
--Paducah Tilghman @ Henderson County
It's 0-3 and counting for the Blue Tornado of Tilghman, and their prospects don't look much better this week. The Colonels step outside of district play after demolishing Daviess County last week in a most impressive fashion.
--Pleasure Ridge Park @ North Hardin
The Panthers of PRP are often overlooked in the stacked 4th District with St. Xavier and Male leading the pack. They can get a bit of attention from me with an impressive road win in Radcliff against the tough Trojans.
--Warren Central @ Manual
It was an embarrasing blowout loss to Bowling Green, but Central can't take a week off here. Manual may not be the program they once were, but they still can compete. Let's see which team makes a comeback here.
--Male @ Ballard
This marks the beginning of a brutal three game road trip for the Bulldogs. This week: at Ballard. In two weeks: at Owensboro. In three weeks: at PRP. Win all three = top team in 4A? That won't be decided until October 20th when Male heads to X. Some road schedule.
--Boyle County @ Lafayette
Can the Rebels stop the bleeding? It's been a rough stretch for Boyle County after an opening win against Harrison County. Lafayette will be no picnic, as the Generals are 3-0, though their schedule hasn't been challenging.
--Southwestern @ South Laurel
The Cardinals are back on the radar following a big win against rival Corbin. But a win against tough 3A Southwestern would further South Laurel's chances in the tough 8th district, where Madison Central seems to be the favorite.
Game of the Week
--Christian County @ Henry Clay
What a great matchup here between one of the best from Western Kentucky and arguably the best from Central Kentucky. The Blue Devils have been rolling, and it will take a great effort from QB Keith Tandy among other Colonels to get the road win.
Other '4A' hosted games: Calloway County @ Marshall County, Monroe County @ Barren County, Boone County @ Meade County, Tates Creek @ Nelson County, Western @ Butler, Conner @ Fern Creek, Ryle @ Dunbar, Rockcastle County @ Lincoln County, Lynn Camp @ Whitley County, Harrison County @ Montgomery County
