Week Four 'A' Preview

We're a third of the way through the regular season. Let's look at the Class A preview for week four (keep in mind that these games are hosted at the Class A schools)...

District Games
(3) Bethlehem @ Kentucky Country Day
(7) Harlan @ Cumberland
(8) Allen Central @ Pikeville
(8) Jenkins @ Hazard
(8) South Floyd @ Phelps

--Franklin-Simpson @ Russellville
The Panthers are on a roll, and after three weeks on the road, they come home to face a struggling Franklin-Simpson team. The Wildcats have dropped their first three games of the season and are looking for a quality win before district play.

--Glasgow @ Bardstown
Two traditional powers are heading in two opposite directions. The Bardstown Tigers are rolling along in Class A, winning their first three and staking a claim in the state championship chase. Glasgow, however, is 0-3 and looking as if they'll be on the playoff bubble all season.

--Pulaski County @ Campbellsville
Two 0-3 teams will hook up Friday night in Central Kentucky. Look for the Campbellsville Tigers here to pick up their first win, but it's never an upset when a bigger school beats a smaller school in my opinion. Well, at least not in this case

--Covington Catholic @ Newport Central Catholic
The Thoroughbreds' tough schedule continues with a home date with area rival Covington Catholic. Even though they stand at 1-2, Newport Central Catholic will be a force in Class A throughout this season.

Game of the Week
--Somerset @ Danville
This should be a good one. The Briar Jumpers, despite being 0-3, have lost two close games to top 3A competition. Danville is 3-0 and has managed to win two games over 3A foes by a total of five points.
