Week Seven '3A' Preview

Sorry for the delay. Here's our district games of note...

1st District
--Paducah Tilghman @ Madisonville-North Hopkins
Sitting at 0-5, the Blue Tornado are looking to turn around their season in a hurry. Madisonville will be a difficult game to get that first win, as the Maroons are a solid 3-3 on the year.
--Hopkinsville @ Union County

2nd District
--Adair County @ Franklin-Simpson
--Breckinridge County @ Logan County

3rd District
--Bullitt East @ Fairdale
Any playoff shot for Fairdale ends with a loss to Bullitt East. East is in a four-way chase for that second position in the district, as Central seems to have captured the championship already.
--Central @ Waggener
--Doss @ Atherton
--Jeffersontown @ Valley
The Vikings have been a pleasant surprise in the 3rd district, as they stand at 3-1 with the only loss coming to Central. A loss to Jeffersontown would seriously hurt their playoff chances though.

4th District
--Southwestern @ Boyle County
It's time to see if Boyle County is better than their 1-4 record indicates. Despite some rough scheduling, can the Rebels make the plays down the stretch to pull out a win against a good Southwestern team?
--Russell County @ Marion County
--Taylor County @ Pulaski County

6th District
--Lexington Catholic @ East Jessamine
While many (including me) ceded the district championship to Catholic after their win over Franklin County, East Jessamine might have something to say about that. The Jaguars stand undefeated in district play.
--Franklin County @ West Jessamine
--Bourbon County @ Harrison County
--Western Hills @ Anderson County

7th District
--Rockcastle County @ Clay County
Clay County raced out to a 5-0 start, but many question how good this team really is after considering their schedule. A win over Rockcastle County would give Clay County the win it needs to become legit.
--Madison Southern @ Bell County
It's a dangerous game for Bell County, who might have one eye on Madison Southern and one eye on the Rockcastle County/Clay County ballgame.
--Knox Central @ Perry County Central

8th District
--Greenup County @ Ashland Blazer
With a near-certain win over Greenup County, Ashland Blazer is one week closer to their dynamic October 20th showdown with Johnson Central.
--Mason County @ Boyd County

Other games of interest...

--Bullitt Central @ North Bullitt
Both Central and North step out of district play this week to battle in this county rivalry. North Bullitt might need a break from the vicious 3rd district, as they've lost two of three.

--Evangel Christian @ Letcher County Central
The Cougars look to pick up their third win of the year as they too step out of district for a week.

Game of the Week
--Warren East @ Bowling Green
Much has been made by Warren East fans about how they will topple the Purples. The stats look good for East: they are averaging 50 points per game and are allowing only 12.8. However, the combined records of their five victims is 7-20. It is not impossible, but it will be difficult for Warren East to win tomorrow night.

With his strong showing last week, sophomore Dalton Cissell of North Bullitt improved to 5th overall in state rushing with 191 yards per game. Should have another huge night vs. Bullitt Central tomorrow night. I'm guessing at least 250 yds.
