Week Seven '4A' Preview

Now let's take a look at our 4A games this weekend...

1st District
--Greenwood @ Christian County
--Graves County @ Warren Central
This big district game might determine who snags a home playoff game, although Marshall County will also be a factor in determining that position.
--Barren County @ Marshall County

2nd District
--Henderson County @ Grayson County
--Ohio County @ Daviess County
The winner here will be in good position to claim the fourth playoff spot in district two.

3rd District
--Central Hardin @ North Hardin
--John Hardin @ Meade County
The third district has been an overall disappointment this season, with John Hardin probably leading the way. A win in Brandenburg would go a long way in turning around the Bulldogs’ season.

4th District
--St. Xavier @ Manual
After falling to Trinity by 25 points, Manual has won two straight and now face a St. X team that is also coming off a loss to Trinity.

5th District
--Trinity @ Seneca
--Ballard @ Southern
After their upset victory over Shelby County last week, Southern could really make some noise with another upset win. Ballard will be a tougher chore though.
--Fern Creek @ Oldham County
--Shelby County @ Eastern
An overtime loss to Southern puts their playoff fortunes in jeopardy, so Shelby County can’t afford another slip-up to a lower-tier team from the 5th district.

6th District
--Conner @ Dixie Heights
--Ryle @ Boone County
With Dixie Heights sitting at 2-0 in district play, the winner of this game will become the Colonels’ top threat in the 6th. Ryle has been rolling lately, but the Rebels will be ready for their rivals.
--Simon Kenton @ Holmes
SK has dropped their first two district games, including a heartbreaking triple overtime loss last week. To find a playoff spot, they must win at Holmes this week.
--Campbell County @ Scott

7th District
--Scott County @ Bryan Station
--Henry Clay @ Woodford County
What could have been for Woodford County, which led Lafayette by 10 in the second half before the game was moved back to Monday. Now Henry Clay comes calling, and that’s not been good news for Blue Devil opponents.
--Lafayette @ Tates Creek
Courtesy two exciting wins last Monday, the Generals and the Commodores will square off in an undefeated classic on Friday. The winner will be Henry Clay’s last challenger in the tough 7th district.

8th District
--North Laurel @ George Rogers Clark
With Madison Central floundering and Lincoln County surging, many have been ignoring the GRC Cardinals, yet they sit at 3-2 overall with a 1-0 district record.
--Madison Central @ South Laurel
The Indians flirted with danger last week against Whitley County, and now they must travel to London to face the Cardinals, which are looking to bounce back from the spanking Lincoln County gave them last week.
--Whitley County @ Montgomery County

And one more game of interest...

--McCreary Central @ Lincoln County
How about those Patriots? The Lincoln County Patriots are on a roll, and they should continue that roll this week while playing independent McCreary Central.

Game of the Week
--Male @ Pleasure Ridge Park
Who will be the won to challenge St. X in the 4th district? Male seems to be the obvious answer, but PRP is coming off a nice win against 3A Central. There’s little doubt what the most anticipated game in the state will be on Friday.
