Week Seven 'A' Preview

Well week six turned into a big mess, so we're gonna go ahead and press forward with the week seven previews. Keep an eye on the KHSAA scoreboard for week six results as they come through.

Consequently, there will be no power rankings this week as some games from the previous week have yet to be completed.

1st District
--Fulton County @ Mayfield
Mayfield should assert its district dominance here, as Fulton County has only seen two Kentucky opponents this season (Reidland, Lafayette). Plus, Mayfield is really good against Class A opponents.
--Ballard Memorial @ Fulton City

2nd District
--Metcalfe County @ Crittenden County
The Hornets must survive this road test if they wish to keep up with a hot Russellville team in the district standings.
--McLean County @ Caverna

3rd District
--Fort Knox @ Louisville Holy Cross
--Bardstown @ Campbellsville
It has all gone horrible wrong for Campbellsville in district play, including a big loss to KCD last week. Bardstown won't improve matters any.
--Kentucky Country Day @ Green County
Green County is making news in the 3rd, but overlooking KCD with Holy Cross looming next week wouldn't be too surprising.

4th District
--Danville @ Owen County
Advantage Admirals.
--Carroll County @ Trimble County

5th District
--Covington Holy Cross @ Dayton
Holy Cross should be good to go for a district championship game against Beechwood to close the year, but Dayton could surprise.
--Ludlow @ Bracken County

6th District
--Berea @ Lexington Christian
--Fairview @ Nicholas County
This is a critical match to see who contends for the #3 and #4 spot in the district standings.
--Bath County @ Paris

7th District
--Somerset @ Williamsburg
The Briar Jumpers look to cross out another district speedbump until they reach the roadblocks of Lynn Camp and Harlan to close the year.
--Lynn Camp @ Evarts

8th District
--Phelps @ Pikeville
Pikeville looks to be the favorite in a very weak 8th district.
--Allen Central @ Hazard
--South Floyd @ Jenkins

Other games of note...

--Casey County @ Bethlehem
Bardstown's other small school, Bethlehem, is 4-0 heading into a Monday match at home with Holy Cross. A 2A challenge from Casey County will be a good rest from the rigorous third district.

--Johnson Central @ Paintsville
The Apple Bowl, as it is, should be Central's for the picking. However, Paintsville is the home team, and anything can happen in a heated rivalry such as this.

Game of the Week
--Russellville @ Hancock County
While Russellville looks ahead to Metcalfe County, they can't afford to overlook Hancock County. A trip to Hawesville might prove painful to the Panthers as Hancock picked up their first win of the season last week against Butler County.
