Week Six '2A' Preview

District Games...

1st District Games
--Trigg County @ Caldwell County
This will be a fine game to watch in Western Kentucky. Trigg County can't afford another district loss, but Caldwell County will be a very tough challenge, as they've jumped out to a 3-1 start, which includes a district win over Lone Oak.
--Lone Oak @ Fort Campbell
After a BIG win at Trigg County, Fort Campbell returns to action against district sleeper Lone Oak. The Purple Flash got back in the winning column last week with a win over Heath.
--Heath @ Muhlenberg South

2nd District Games
--Todd County Central @ Owensboro Catholic
--Edmonson County @ Monroe County
Edmonson County has notched two district wins already, and a win in Tompkinsville pretty much assures them a playoff birth. The Falcons, however, need this win to get their district season started on the right track.
--Glasgow @ Hart County
At long last, Glasgow should capture their first win. Of course, stranger things have happened than Hart County beating Glasgow in football.

3rd District Games
--Shawnee @ Larue County
While Western gets all the attention in the 3rd, Larue County must hold serve at home if it wishes to battle the Warriors in a winner-take-all district showdown on October 13th.
--DeSales @ Moore
--Christian Academy-Louisville @ Washington County

6th District Games
--Powell County @ Russell
The Red Devils won't be challenged again until it sees Belfry in the fourth round of the playoffs.
--West Carter @ Morgan County
--Fleming County @ East Carter
--Lewis County @ Estill County

8th District Games
--Sheldon Clark @ Prestonsburg
It's a critical match in the 8th District, as SC and the Blackcats may determine who hosts a playoff game in this matchup. Their records are reverse (SC 3-1, PB 1-3), but it should be a good one in Eastern Kentucky.
--Shelby Valley @ East Ridge

For the rest of the action, and there isn't much...

--Crittenden County @ Webster County
In the competitive 1st District, watch out for Webster County, which already has picked up two district wins on the year.

--Casey County @ Mercer County
It's not about who, but how much. Could Mercer County have been any better so far this season?

--Grant County @ Newport
Grant County has won three straight, but Newport will be a challenge on the road. However, will the Wildcats be looking ahead to next week, when district "titan" Mercer County comes calling?

--Bell County @ Leslie County
The Bobcats continue to look more like Rockcastle County's equal in 3A's District 7, but they'll step outside of their class this week to battle Leslie County. The Eagles have dropped two of three after winning their first two games this season.

Game of the Week
--Elizabethtown @ Western
After a puzzling loss to Washington County, E-Town now has the pleasure of traveling to Louisville Western. With a loss, E-Town falls to 0-2 in the district, and with a tough game yet to come at Larue County, the Panthers might be in playoff peril.
