Week Six '4A' Preview

District games for the big schools...

1st District Games
--Barren County @ Warren Central
--Marshall County @ Greenwood
The Gators picked up their first win of the season last week against Hopkins County Central, but they may not be favored to win another game until the season finale against Barren County.

2nd District Games
--Daviess County @ Apollo
Apollo is 5-0 on the season, and should be 6-0 after picking up a win against their cross-town rival Panthers.
--Grayson County @ Ohio County

3rd District Games
--Nelson County @ Bullitt Central

4th District Games
--Iroquois @ Butler

5th District Games
--Eastern @ Ballard
--Seneca @ Fern Creek
The loser of this game will fall to 0-2 in the district, and it'll be difficult for that team to recover to make a playoff spot.
--Southern @ Shelby County

6th District Games
--Simon Kenton @ Dixie Heights
SK won their first three games on the season, and Dixie Heights lost their first three. Both teams swapped fortunes during week one of district play.
--Scott @ Boone County
--Holmes @ Ryle
The winner of this matchup will go to 2-0 in district play, and probably have an inside track at a playoff berth.
--Conner @ Campbell County

7th District Games
--Bryan Station @ Henry Clay
--Tates Creek @ Dunbar
It's been a struggle at Dunbar, as the Bulldogs are 0-5 on the season. Tates Creek, on the other hand, is 4-0 and will be looking for their first district victory.
--Woodford County @ Lafayette
While Henry Clay gets most of the attention in this district at 5-0, two other 5-0 teams will square off Friday night in downtown Lexington. The winner of this game should be looking good come playoff time.

8th District Games
--George Rogers Clark @ Montgomery County
All of a sudden, the 8th District is wide open thanks to Montgomery County's upset of Madison Central. An Indian win here over GRC would throw this district into even more disarray.
--Whitley County @ Madison Central
--South Laurel @ Lincoln County

And for the rest of the show...

--Male @ Owensboro
Does the western side of the state have anything for the Louisville and Lexington schools? The Red Devils of Owensboro will look to prove their region's worth as they host one of The Big Three in a highly-anticipated game.

--Cincinnati Moeller (OH) @ Henderson County
Henderson County has taken four straight games, but their winning streak is in serious jeopardy against one of Cincinnati's finest teams.

--Wayne County @ Scott County
It'll be a battle of the Cardinals, but expect the Scott County Cardinals to rebound well after dropping a heartbreaker to Henry Clay.

Game of the Week
--Trinity vs. St. Xavier (at Papa John's Stadium)
You might have heard about it before. It's kind of a big deal. The winner (with apologies to Male and perhaps Henry Clay) becomes the favorite to win the state championship. Expect nothing but the best game of the year in the Pizza Pit.

Other '4A' hosted games: South Oldham @ John Hardin, Muhlenberg North @ Central Hardin
